Cathe and Ryan McDevitt are the crazy people who put up with all this puppy madness. Cathe (that's me!) is the one struggling to keep this site updated, and Ryan is the one reminding me that work is more important. We live in Burlington, VT, with our growing family. Click the pet pics for baby photos.
Lily (a.k.a. "Tixie") is our Pit Beagle. She's a 45-pound solid ball of hoss and her job is to guard the house from serious threats like neighbors, squirrels, and wandering cats. Her extreme enthusiasm is a little overwhelming for guests, but she's fine when it's just her family at home.
Maverick (a.k.a. "The Dood") is our terribly handsome, but not terribly bright Rhodesian Ridgeback. At 90 pounds, he's twice the size of Lily, but he still lets her push him around. He is perfectly happy sleeping the day away, and that's what we love about him!
Kayden (a.k.a. "Baby K") is a crazy little Husky mutt who belongs to my sister, Anne. Putting Kayden and Lily in the same room is a recipe for disaster, so it doesn't happen very often anymore. Being a Husky mix, Kayden loves to be part of a pack, and we'll always consider her one of the McDevitt Mutts.
Sera is a sassy little Shih Tzu / Maltese mix who belongs to my mother and used to get lots of puppy visits. She would check out the action and scold the pups with lots of barking - then retreat to the safety of a nearby lap. Sera has since retired to Florida to enjoy long quiet days in the sunshine.
Iris (a.k.a. "Miss Bibby") is our itty bitty pretty kitty. She tends to stay close, but not too close. She's a watcher, and can usually be found on the nearest high window or shelf. Don't let her innocent act fool you, however. We treat her like a princess but we know she's mastered the stealth hoss.
Doug (a.k.a. "The Hoss") - last but not least! - is our big fluffy grey troublemaker. He has brain and upper respiratory damage caused by a tumor in his forehead. As a result, he is totally unstealthy (because he breathes loudly), he licks a lot (because he can't smell), and is very lovey and outgoing. Simply put, he's a ham.
